Well, it’s been about a week since my last post, and even the posts before that I was making weren’t much to behold. My excuses, in no particular order: depressing winter weather, the economy, our ridiculous government leaders, and my own personal life that’s keeping me busy.
Hopefully the personal stuff is going to start clearing up this coming week. I feel like I’m on the personal life equivalent of the Dave Ramsey plan, where if I can just get that first snowball rolling, other things will start to fall into place. We officially joined St. Rose this week, so we technically “belong” to a Church now. If you’re Catholic and looking for a regular Mass to attend, I highly recommend St. Rose. I can’t say enough how friendly and welcoming the people are there.
Well, it’s still morning, time to try to get some exercise in.
As a Conservative, I’m obviously thrilled with the recent election results out of Massachusetts. I’ve got to say, it gives me new hope to know that we’ve got a chance to kill this nightmare healthcare bill that Obama and Pelosi were trying to ram down our throats. It gives me new faith in the American people to know that we have a chance to save our country and our way of life.
A warning, however: don’t screw it up. We’ve got a chance to make a real significant change for the better, to really set the course of this nation back in the right direction. We’ve got to fight to elect more Conservatives, and we’ve got to stay vigilant to make sure they stay that way. We can’t afford to let our new leaders be corrupted like the old. We’ve got to watch them and guide them and make sure there is no doubt in their minds who they work for and what they should be doing. If we put a bunch of fresh faces in office only to watch them start to resemble Pelosi or Barney Frank, we’ll no have one to blame but ourselves.
Check out this video about New Ordos, an entire city in China built by stimulus money to prop up their GDP and economy. The place is practically a ghost-town, as noone has bothered to move in. Seems like the kind of nut-ball thing our leaders would come up with, doesn’t it? After all, we have a prison in my area that was built but never occupied because the state decided that they couldn’t afford to staff it.
I recently wrenched the you-know-what out of my right ankle. I’ve never had a broken bone – at least not identified by an x-ray as such – but this was starting to have me worried. I wore a brace for several days, and although it was feeling better, it was still swollen and very tender.
Anyway, 3 X-ray shots later and I’m told there are no broken bones. I’m supposed to wear the brace as tight as I can for the next week, 24 hours a day, and see how things go. Can’t say I’m liking that too much, but I sure am glad I’m not sitting here in a cast with crutches.
This poor guy just can’t win for losing. His lawyers must cringe every time he opens his mouth, not knowing what moronic thing he’s going to say next. Apparently he doesn’t like Obama anymore and figured he’d get in a few jabs when he had the chance. He was right-on with the teleprompter slam – too bad he didn’t stick with that topic and quit while he was ahead. Claiming he’s more black than Obama because he shined shoes and his dad ran a laundromat? I had flashbacks to one of those great shows of my childhood, The Jeffersons.
A couple cool posters over at The Rude News highlighting our ex-governor and his unique ability to put his foot in his mouth…
