For those of you who couldn’t understand why so many were concerned about the speech Obama had planned to give to the schools, and about the “curriculum” pushed on the schools ahead of time, Stacy Mott of Smart Girl Politics does a pretty good job of explaining. Here’s a sample of what was included in the curriculum. It’s fairly clear that teachers were expected to “educate” students about the proposed healthcare plan and then test them to make sure they got it. Convince the kids that lots of people are screwed over by lack of insurance and care, and the kids will lean on their parents about it. Use peer pressure to squash any objections by kids that might know better.
