Interesting article here about a new push to asset state sovereignty. Many states are resisting the overreaching hand off the federal government and are taking steps to assert their rights, the rights given them by the Constitution.
Some people might see a correllation between what’s happening now and the move by the South back in the Civil War days. The Southern states felt they were losing their sovereignty to a federal government that was primarily controlled by the North. Their way of life was threatened by those who held only their own interests at heart.
To me, the situation today is much the same. The more rural and traditional part of the country is being overrun by a federal government voted for and controlled by high concentrations of democrats in the urban cities. High taxes, socialist ideas, government dependence – all are being shoved down the throats of the conservative part of the country by the liberal elites.
It’s time for the conservatives – true conservatives – to speak up and resist. Write to your leaders. Make your voice heard. We have a tendency as conservatives to keep to ourselves. We want to live our lives and be left alone, but that’s not good enough anymore. The relentless push of liberalism and socialism won’t let us just live our lives – it’s going to force us to change. We HAVE to speak up NOW.
