From this Chicago Tribune Article:

U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky, a member of the House Democratic leadership, blasted the tea parties as a “despicable” and “shameful political stunt” that was the product of “groups of right-wing activists and fueled by Fox News.”

“Made to look like a grass-roots uprising, this is an Obama-bashing party promoted by corporate interests, as well as Republican lobbyists and politicians,” she said in a statement.

Let’s see, what do we know about Jan Schakowsky?

  • Close personal friend of liberal leader Nancy Pelosi
  • One of the most and possibly THE most liberal member of Congress
  • Votes with her party 98.4% of the time.
  • Co-sponsor in 2007 of HR333, articles of impeachment against Dick Cheney
  • Was a possible candidate for Blagojevich to replace Obama in the Senate

She seems like she’d be open minded, right?  Wonder why she’s so against the Tea Party movement?

One Response to “The insults continue against Tea Party attendees”

Even if they were completely right, so what? Do they think anti-war rallies, anti-nuke demonstrations, or animal rights marches JUST HAPPEN? Someone’s mad about Iraq, so he makes a Bush-Hitler sign and goes to stand in front of the courthouse with it, and it turns out a hundred other people had the same idea at the same time?

Of course not. ALL political rallies are organized by political action groups; that’s what those groups exist FOR. Every time two people with protest signs show up somewhere, it’s a political stunt. That’s the point.

These people just aren’t used to seeing a political demonstration that they don’t agree with (unless it’s near an abortion clinic). It’s confusing and a little scary for them, because in a way, they’re seeing their own weapon turned against them.
