What the liberals never seem to be able to understand is that when the state collapses into chaos, all of the special pet programs and unions they were protecting will collapse as well.
Here in Illinois we have the same problem. The Democrat regime in charge won’t make any significant cuts because they are so beholden to the unions and special interests who got them elected. The state’s debt keeps growing, and Governor Quinn’s only answer is to demand an income tax hike that no one wants. Illinois is going to follow California into the crapper unless something is done soon. Hopefully we can elect some decent conservatives who will make the tough decisions to cut back on state spending and start encouraging business growth in this state again.
This ad from the Republican Governors Association is impressive. It strings together a combination of images and sound bites that really got my attention. Share this video with everyone you can.
At first I thought it was a joke. At least it sounded like one.
The tall woman with long brown hair walks up the front steps to her best friend’s house and rings the bell. Her friend opens the door and the tall woman gives her a little hug before entering the premises. Out by the hedge something moves. The door closes and from behind the hedge crawls a slight man with a a badge and a stainless steel comb. The little man crawls with cat-like stealth around the side of the house and perches himself where he can see through the kitchen window. “Aha!” he softly proclaims. He touches the button on his headset and whispers, “The hen is in the fox-house. Repeat, the hen is in the fox-house!” In his headset, he hears a female voice, “maintain your position until backup arrives.” “Roger!” is all the little man replies. The voice on the other end responds, “I know your name, just wait where you are!”
Yes, our bonehead Illinois government has passed a law to cover the regulation of hair-braiders. Apparently the business of hair-braiding was out of control in Illinois.
I’ve always thought the whole barber license thing was a complete joke. It’s an obvious scam to collect fees from people so the government can spend more money on social programs. Not enough money to spend? Regulate something else and charge license fees. This time it’s hair-braiding.
What will it be tomorrow? A license to mow lawns? How about a license to clean houses? With the liberals in charge, what part of our lives will the government NOT be involved in?
Remember November, people! We’ve got to stop this insanity before it gets any worse.
If you’re one of those people who’ve doubted or just refused to believe that the mainstream media is totally in the tank for Obama and his liberal cronies, you need to read this article at the Daily Caller. Not only is the MSM left-leaning, they are organized and working as a group to stifle certain news to protect their chosen Democrat politicians.
If you’re not familiar with Hare, he’s basically a yes-man for the Chicago Democrat machine. He’s also been known to say some pretty dumb things in public, which has endeared him to residents of Quincy.
I’ve gotta give Hare a little credit though. At least he lets himself be seen in public, even if he DOES take a heck of a beating. In comparison, our own Senator Dick “Turban” Durbin won’t come to Quincy unless he can slip in and out without having to actually talk to anyone who might ask a hard question.
Bobby Schilling has my vote. If you’re reading this and you want to once again be able to tell people you live in Illinois without being embarrassed, get off your butt and support Bobby Schilling!
I DO like the looks of the new Dodge Charger and Challenger. They’ve actually got some character, unlike the car styles we had to endure in recent years. I’d love to see a remake of the Plymouth Barracuda or the Buick Gran Sport next.
Here’s an attention-getting commercial from Dodge for the Challenger.
People who know me know that I’m a big Chris Christie fan. If only he were the Governor of Illinois instead of Pat Quinn, he’d be fixing this state instead of New Jersey. Got a twin brother we can have, Chris?
Here’s an interesting story at Catholic Online showing how Christie is governing as a Catholic. Particularly insightful is their discussion of the “principle of subsidiarity” and how Christie’s policies fit that Catholic tenet.
I’d like to add that I was particularly thrilled to hear that Christie cut the state funding of Planned Parenthood in New Jersey. Catholics and other pro-life individuals should not have to pay for abortions that go so deeply against their beliefs.
